Mrs. Joy L. Bair, 96, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 10:52 pm, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her home.
Joy was born December 6, 1927, in Victoria, Illinois, the daughter of Tyko and Violet (Larson) Johnson. She married Marion "Cub" Bair on August 22, 1952, in Victoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2002, after 50 years of marriage.
Joy is survived by her sons, Marty Bair and Todd (and Bonnie) Bair both of Galesburg; her brother, Gary (and Diane) Johnson of Derby, Indiana, one granddaughter, Amanda (and Brandon) Lybarger of Galesburg, and a great granddaughter, Ila Marie Lybarger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Kenny Johnson and Max Johnson, and her sister, Mary Jo Shover
Joy graduated from Victoria High School in 1945. She went on to work for Admiral/Maytag Corporation for over 30 years, retiring July 1, 1992. She was a volunteer for many years at the former Galesburg Cottage Corner and was a member of the Galesburg Eveni
