Bernard "Bernie" Eugene Stomberg, 89, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home at 6:12 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2024.
He was born Jan. 1, 1935, to Leland Frank and Emma Linnea (Hallin) Stomberg.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Loretta (Roberts) Stomberg; his son Ben "Stone" (and Amanda) Stomberg of Galesburg; his daughter Heather Stomberg of Woodridge, Illinois; his grandson Alijah Pedersen of Galesburg; and his "favorite sister" Penny (and Larry) Moore, of Bettendorf, Iowa.
Bernie is also survived by sister-in-law Betty (and Terry) Hicks of Galesburg; sister-in-law Brenda (and Gary) Lindsey of East Galesburg; sister-in-law Patty Roberts of Galesburg, and brother-in-law Rick (and Anna) Roberts of Galesburg. He also is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, who all meant the world to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Duane (and Carol); brother Jim; and brother-in-law Randall Roberts.
