David Lee Simpson, 72, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 10:01 p.m. in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.
Dave was born December 25, 1951, in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Beatrice A. (Benge) and Richard H. Simpson. He married Janice Brewer. Together they had one daughter, Janel. After the death of Janice, Dave married Patricia Cook and they had two children, Benjamin and Rachael. He later married Jackie McDorman and had one daughter, Samantha.
Dave is survived by four daughters, Janel Simpson of Monmouth, Illinois, Rachael Abel of Keokuk, Iowa, Joy Armstrong of Abingdon, Illinois, and Samantha Simpson of Galesburg; three sons, David Heatherly, Benjamin (Michelle) Simpson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Michael Armstrong of Galesburg; one brother, Paul Simpson of Stronghurst, Illinois; and one sister, Carolyn Simpson of Galesburg. Dave is also survived by seven grandchildren, Aidan and Ava Simpson, Landon Creighton, Liam and Mila Armstrong, Shannia Swank
