Lynnette K. Hillyer, age 73 of Galesburg, Illinois died at 2:45 PM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on July 18, 1951 in Macomb, Illinois the daughter of Carmen and Wanda (Arvin) Shirrell. She attended and graduated from Macomb High School in 1969. She married Jeff Hillyer on September 26, 1992 in Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Jeff Hillyer of Galesburg, Illinois: her children: Matthew Newland of Moline, Illinois, Jennifer (Roger) Carter of Galesburg, Illinois, Tiffany Wilson of Davenport, Iowa: twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren: her brother, Troy (Cindy) Shirrell of Macomb, Illinois; her brother-in-law, Robert (Sue) Hillyer of Galesburg, Illinois; and one nephew Robert John Hillyer of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Donovan Newland.
She enjoyed gardening and was an avid animal lover. She made and sold Dream Catchers on the Spoon River Scenic Drive.
