Carolyn M. McLaren, age 88, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 7:30 PM at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois with her family by her side. She was born on October 29, 1936 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Arvid and Leona (Stromquist) Bushong. She attended and graduated from The Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Illinois. She married Donald E. McLaren on October 19, 1953 at the Knoxville United Methodist Church Parsonage in Knoxville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2012. Surviving are her children: Steve (Janice) McLaren of Aledo, Illinois, Debra (Tom) Jackson of LeRoy, Illinois, Ann (Steve) Shonkwiler of Knoxville, Illinois, and Kelly (Jim) McCormick of Knoxville, Illinois; grandchildren: Michael (Pamela) McLaren of Dallas, Texas, Nate Stinson of Kuwait, Alexandra Jackson of Chicago, Illinois, Zachary Jackson of Bloomington, Illinois, Matthew Barr of Knoxville, Illinois, Cade Shonkwiler of Chicago, Illinois, Shanna (Josh) Sebben of Hen
