Jeanne F. Hines, 98, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away on Friday, March 7, 2024 at Knox County Nursing Home. Jeanne (Emma Jean Florence) was born on January 18, 1927, to James and Hattie (Stoneking) Gladfelter in Galva, Illinois. Surviving are her 3 children; Cynthia Lynn Hines of Knoxville, Cathleen (Tate) Chambers of Morton, and Charles F. (Lee) Hines Jr., 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Tate, and siblings. Jeanne graduated from high school in Galesburg and attended Brown's Business College. She focused on raising her family until her children were school age; she then worked as a teacher's aide at Mary Allen West School. She and her husband later became the owners and operators of Midwest Builders, a commercial Butler dealer, in Galesburg. After Chuck's retirement, she worked at Bev's floral shop in Knoxville before buying and operating her lingerie store, Jeanne's, on Main Street in Galesburg.
