Brenda Lee James, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 12, 2025, in Bella Vista, Arkansas, after a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer. Brenda was born on July 24, 1942, in Abingdon, Illinois, to Ester Griffith and Charlie Risenhoover. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Pat Eibner, her son Lavern Lee James, and her beloved husband, Carl E. James, with whom she shared 24 years of marriage. A devoted homemaker, Brenda dedicated her life to her family. She was feisty, caring, and fiercely loyal to those she loved. She found great joy in reading and cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Brenda raised her children in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and later returned to Galesburg, Illinois, a place she dearly loved, to help care for her mother in her later years.
