Mr. Richard M. (Rick) Cottom age 65 of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Monday March 17, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Rick was born Wednesday September 9, 1959, in Galesburg, Illinois to the late Simon Harold and Claudene Crocker Cottom. He graduated R.O.V.A. High School and attended Clayton State College. Rick was born and raised in Illinois. Four years after starting a family of his own, he moved his young Family south to Georgia. This is where he lived his adult life and where his children were raised. He was a Professional Truck Driver for over 49 years being employed by Collins Trucking for the last 15. During his 49 years in trucking, he was a diesel mechanic for 15 years. Rick was a history buff, and he enjoyed collecting guns and restoring classic cars, he was a lifelong member of the NRA. Rick is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pamela Southwick Cottom, his son and daughter; Lucas Cottom of Watkinsville, Georgia and Courtney Cottom of Hampton, Georgia
